air travel after DVT and blood thinners

Recommended Posts

I promise not to become a serial poster but 18 months post DVT, I still struggle to find any information on air travel after recovery from DVT for people that are not on blood thinners. I have been off eliquis for 1 year. I travel quite a bit for work, but I try really hard to take the shortest flights possible, even if it means layovers. I also get up on the plane every 30 minutes or so, but I am anxious pretty much the entire time Anyone else out here travel much and do you mind sharing your routine?

Travel anxiety after DVT is real. I went through a similar phase. Staying hydrated, doing in-seat exercises, and wearing compression socks worked for me. Plus, I am having a chat with my doctor to ease concerns. It gets easier over time! Also, get cheap business class tickets for more comfort. Good luck!
