This means it's not under the control of a single person, organization, or thing. Instead, it is governed by the Decentraland DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). The owners of MANA, the native cryptocurrency of Decentraland, make up the DAO. Voting on proposals that influence the development and direction of the virtual world is available to MANA holders.
